PULSAR-23

A semi-modular analogue drum machine made of 23 modules, with four drum channels (bass drum, bass/percussion, snare, cymbals/hi-hat), four envelope generators that can sustain into noise or drone, four trigger-event loop recorders, a shift-register random generator, an FX processor and distortion. It runs standalone or under MIDI or CV control and has over 100 patch points.

How to use it in horror

Stretch the drum envelopes until the kick and snare turn into rumbling noise beds, then let the random shift-register trigger irregular hits through the distortion for an unpredictable, mechanical pulse in a chase scene.
