Randy's Prepared Piano

Three pianos recorded at the MGM Scoring Stage and Hollywood Scoring, played with extended and prepared techniques by session pianist Randy Kerber. These include putty, chains, a metal bar, dimes, ping-pong balls, rubber mallets, finger mutes, strums, knocks and FX hits. It runs in Kontakt Player 5.6.8 or later and needs about 14 GB once installed.

How to use it in horror

Play a simple nursery-rhyme figure with the chains or metal-bar articulation so a familiar piano sounds damaged, then answer it with a dry knock or FX boom.
